Globe’s Mobile Information Center Named “Best Web Services Application for Mobile Client” by Microsoft
Globe stands encouraged by this major endorsement for MIC’s strategy to become the ubiquitous mobile web services platform for broadband wireless applications, says CEO Charles Mok.
The award is part of Microsoft’s Web Services Competition held earlier in Hong Kong. As web services technology is changing the landscapes of software integration and business performance, Globe’s MIC provides a standard and simplified way for application integration inside enterprises and across network boundaries, achieving “anytime, any-place and any-device” access to data. MIC also offers the most advanced and elegant way to access web services from multiple mobile client devices, including Java and Windows Mobile.
“We are delighted by the award from Microsoft, as it sends a clear message of endorsement for our strategy of creating and delivering MIC to become the common mobile platform and interface technology for web services,” says Charles Mok, Chief Executive Officer of Globe Technology Development Limited, “The award forcefully reaffirms our development strategy to make MIC the ubiquitous mobile web services platform for wireless broadband applications, including 3G to EDGE and GPRS, as well as fixed wireless options.”
MIC is an innovative open web services platform that extends data and applications to the mobile environment, including the support for most major mobile operating system platforms, as well as multiple wireless data transport options. MIC provides an advanced, high-performance and mission-critical platform for real-time and bi-directional data communications.
